Let’s get moving with the SRM stuff. The very first thing that needs to be done after pairing the sites and installing SRAs is to configure SRM Array Managers which helps the SRM to discover the replicated devices, compute datastore groups and initiate storage operations. This is a one time operation unless there is a change in the credentials.
Launch the vSphere Web Client, navigate to the SRM Sites. On the Actions drop down, select the option Add Array Manager.
Since we have already paired the sites, leave the default option Add a pair of array Manager and click Next
The SRM pair should automatically show up here. Select the pair and click Next.
Select the SRA and click Next.
Give a name to the Array Manager at the Protected Site, enter the IP address of the HP VSA for the protected site and also provide the credentials for the same. Click Next.
Repeat the above step for the Recovery site.
The wizard creates a Array Pair for us and make sure the check box beside it is checked to enable the pair. Click Next.
Review the settings and click Finish.
Once done, you should be able to see the Array Pairs listed in the Array Based Replication section.
Since we are doing it the first time, there would be no need for us to rescan the array managers but just in case you edit the array manager we need to rescan them for the new configuration to show up. Select a Array Manager and hit the Refresh button to discover new devices and replicated datastores.
Here you can also see the replication direction.
On the recovery site, the replication direction is different.
Hope this was informative. Thanks!
