Hello all, VMware today has announced a change in plan for all those who have an expired VCP. Earlier, you had to retake the entire 5 day training class to be able to get re-certified, but things changed a bit now.
As you can see above, there is a Path 4 added newly, you can now just attend a What’s New course instead of a full 5 day course. By taking this you save 3 days of your valuable time and also the training cost is less. However, you still need to take the Foundations Exam to actually take the VCP-DCV exam. With vSphere 6.5 announced a few days ago, keep checking the VMware Certification page for What’s New 6.5 course.
Update 25 Oct 16: New What’s New 5.5 to 6.5 course available
Having said all those things, it is always a good idea to stay certified as it saves you more money than with getting recertified.
Hope this was informative. Thanks!
